Happy Onam Greetings Through Satellite!

Onam is the most important regional festival of Kerala and is celebrated widely. School students get a 10 day holiday, typically after their quarterly exams. The whole mood in the state is one of festivities. Onam is celebrated by Malayalis all over the world. Today I had the unique privilege of exchanging Onam Greetings through the Amateur Radio on International Space Station. It was an Eastern pass of about 38 degree maximum elevation, starting at 7.29 pm in the region. I was extremely happy to get Onam Greetings through the satellite for the first time in my life!
