Heard DX Station on Space Station Pass During Busy SSTV ‘Season’!

Slow Scan Television (SSTV) transmissions to celebrate the World Space Week 2025 has been going on from the International Space Station and most of the Amateur Radio Low Earth Satellite operators in this region are busy receiving SSTV images. Hence there are very few on the cross-band voice repeater of amateur radio on international space station. Today morning I listened to one good pass and I could hear only myself on the voice repeater. But evening pass was better. When the space station was towards the North, I could hear a DX station calling. Later I could hear a VU station calling back. Still later another VU station was also heard. Not bad performance on a working day in a region with very few LEO satellite operators, that too when an SSTV transmissions are going on. During SSTV transmissions, most are busy receiving SSTV images and even those who are not regular on satellites also try receiving SSTV images and post them on social media networks. Here is the curated pass recording after removing silent periods with just the hissing noise of open squelch in the radio.
