Is another geomagnetic storm in progress?

Today morning, I could check in to several 40m nets as usual, with good signal reports both ways. After that I settled for a QSO with VU2MV, my old time contact from the days when he was VUTEC/VU2MVX and I was VU2JFP, in late 1980s. VU2MV noted that my signals are fading and signed off. I tuned around for some time and found that Belgaum net is also fading. Within a few minutes, the whole 40m band appeared to be very silent. I was reminded of the state when the G5 extreme geomagnetic storm occurred in May 2024. Checked the planetary K index and found everything in the green. Of course, it is an average data getting updated every three hours. Maybe if I check after some time, it may be in the red. Checked space weather forecasts and found that multiple coronal mass ejections (CME) has occurred from the Sun a couple of days back. The stream of charged particles would have made their way into our region. Usually the day side of the globe is affected more. So if it has reached to our region today morning, other regions on the other side of the globe like the US, may appreciate it only by tonight (day for them).
