Looking inside PTT mic of Easy BITX to see how it is triggered!
As part of troubleshooting the low output from the pre-amplifier board, I opened up the PTT mic to see the connections inside. It seems to be a dynamic mic and the PTT lever connects the central ring of the stereo pin to ground when pressed. It is likely that 10K bias resistor in the pre-amplifier board is giving unnecessary bias to the mic and reducing its performance. May have to remove that resistor on the board and try later. The echo function has to be disable either by grounding the central pin of the REVERB potentiometer or removing the PT2399 IC and bypassing the audio path. That is work for another day!
