Mayotte Island DXpedition 2-10 August 2025

I was tuning around 15m band today and found a pileup of stations on 21.155 MHz and thought that a DXpedition must be around. Checked the frequency on https://dxwatch.com/ and understood that TO3K was working on 21.150 MHz, 5-10 up. But I was not able to hear TO3K. I could only hear stations calling them. Mayotte is a French territory in the Indian Ocean, located between Mozambique and Madagascar. The current Mayotte Island DXpedition is by Italian DxAdventure Team. They are operating from 80 to 6m HF bands, on SSB, CW, FT8 and FT4 modes. The location has an Islands on The Air (IOTA) designation of AF-027, meaning number 27 in Africa region. Interestingly, the island has a shape resembling a seahorse!
