VU7 Activation 2026: AU7RS Team to Start Activation Tomorrow!

The VU7 activation scheduled to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, is the AU7RS DXpedition from Agatti Island, Lakshadweep. Originally planned for an earlier start, the team faced logistical delays.

Activation Details

  • Callsign: AU7RS
  • Start Time: Operations are expected to commence around 12:00 UTC tomorrow (February 10).
  • Initial Setup: They plan to have two stations on the air immediately, gradually increasing the number as the rest of the gear is deployed.
  • Modes: There is a heavy emphasis on “human modes”—CW and SSB—though they will also have a dedicated station for FT8.
  • Bands: 160m to 10m, plus QO-100 satellite activity.
  • Team: Led by VU2RS, with VU24DX, VU3DXA, VU3GDS/VU25EE), and VU29AR.

Tips for Working Them

  • Low Band Focus: Heard that they will prioritize the 40m, 80m, and 160m bands to help operators (especially those in North America) fill these difficult slots. I am also looking forward to working them on lower bands. That is because I may be in skip with them on higher bands!
  • QSL Info: QSL management is being handled by M0OXO via OQRS.
  • Extension: To make up for the delayed start, the team intends to extend their stay beyond the original February 15th, provided logistics and accommodations allow.
