World Amateur Radio Day 2024

World Amateur Radio Day greetings to each and every one of you! World Amateur Radio Day is celebrated every year on 18th April. International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris on this day in 1925. IARU was represented by just 25 countries in 1925, while there are 160 member socities over three regions now. IARU Region 1 represents Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Northern Asia. The Americas come in Region 2. IARU region 3 to which we belong, includes Australia, New Zealand, Pacific island nations and most of Asia. Altogether there are over three million radio amateurs currently. Current year’s theme is: “A Century of Connections: Celebrating 100 years of Amateur Radio Innovation, Community, and Advocacy”. Next year is the centenary year of IARU.
