How Does The ECG Help Patient Care?

How does the electrocardiogram (ECG) help patient care?

ECG records the electrical activity of the heart. It shows various abnormalities with different types of heart disease. The most important role of an ECG is in the confirmation of a heart attack. The test is widely available even in small hospitals and is quite inexpensive, compared to all other tests for heart disease. Hence it is quite useful for patient care, though it cannot diagnose all forms of heart disease. After all, it is a test which was invented about 120 years ago.
