What is the maximum predicted heart rate with exercise?

In a normal person, the heart rate increases steadily with exercise. Maximum predicted heart rate is 220 – age of the person. If the heart rate does not increase adequately with exercise, it is known as chronotropic incompetence. This can occur as a result of degenerative disease of the sino-atrial node or due to drugs like beta blockers which suppress the chronotropicity of the sinus node.
