Corrigan pulses are are the bounding arterial pulsations seen with high stroke volume. In chronic complete heart block, the slow rate is compensated by increased stroke volume. The prominent pulses may be seen on the head, neck and upper extremities. Shaking of the body with each heart beat can also occur in severe aortic regurgitation with very large stroke volume.
