DDI pacemaker mode

DDI pacemaker mode

DDI mode: A functional mode of the pacemaker in which both chambers are sensed and both chambers are paced, in the inhibitory mode. That means that pacemaker will sense spontaneous signals in both atrium and ventricle and can pace both atrium and ventricle, but will pace only if the spontaneous signals are absent. D stands for dual and I for inhibited. First D means that both chambers can be paced and second D means that both chambers are monitored. DDI is one of the three letter codes for modes of pacemaker function.
