Primary angioplasty is currently the best treatment for acute myocardial infarction early in the course of the disease. Earlier it is reperfused, the better. Even if the person presents to a hospital without facility for primary angioplasty, there is an option for transfer to a hospital with capability for primary angioplasty, if it can be achieved with short delay.
