Mitral isthmus

Mitral isthmus is the region between the left inferior pulmonary vein ostium and the mitral annulus. Mitral isthmus ablation is useful in prevention of left atrial macroreentrant tachycardia which can occur following pulmonary vein isolation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation [1].
