Temporary Pacing of the Heart

Temporary pacing is a life saving procedure. Usual method is transvenous pacing through the femoral vein. Other approaches are through subclavian vein, jugular vein and coronary artery. Temporary transcutaneous pacing is another option in the ICU for short periods as back up.
