AR and MR – Colour Doppler echocardiogram

The AR jet shows a good mosaic pattern due to the high velocity and variance in the velocity spectrum. The severity of AR can be assessed by the width of the jet at its origin in relation to the left ventricular outflow tract diameter as well as by the extent of the jet into the left ventricle.
