Though the multipurpose catheter is similar in appearance to the right coronary catheter, the distal curve is longer than that of the right coronary catheter. Multipurpose catheter as the name implies, can be used for multiple types of applications. It can be used to cross the patent ductus arteriosus during coil closure. It has also been used a single catheter for both right and left coronary angiography.
