P2Y12 antagonists

P2Y₁₂ antagonists can be classified into three generations depending whether they are reversible or irreversible inhibitors and whether they are competitive or non competitive.

First generation: Irreversible P2Y12 antagonists 

1. Ticlopidine
2. Clopidogrel
3. Prasugrel

Second generation: Reversible, non-competitive P2Y12 antagonists

1. Cangrelor
2. Ticagrelor

Third generation: Reversible, Competitive P2Y12 antagonists

1. Elinogrel
